LEARN HOW TO GROOVE FROM A PRO....

I'm a Guitarist, Grammy winning producer, and Educator with decades of experience with touring and recording credits with artists including The Neville Brothers, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Daryl Hall, and many others. As a South Louisiana native and member of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, I've spent much of my career playing the music that inspired GUMBO GROOVES! My approach to teaching comes from years of working on the bandstand and in the studio. I want to show you not only HOW to play these grooves, but WHY they work — so you can take these ideas and make them your own.

ABOUT "GUMBO GROOVES.."

As a South Louisiana native, I know that the best "gumbo" is made by using the right ingredients and knowing how to use them....Just like in a groove and rhythm part. GUMBO GROOVES is  collection of original grooves and riffs that demonstrate and walk you through concepts that WORK. If you want to improve your rhythm playing, feel, and groove while exploring the sounds of New Orleans, Funk, R&B, Blues, Gospel, and Zydeco, then this course is for YOU! We'll start with simple one chord vamps,  and quickly build from there, exploring different approaches to rhythm guitar, including muting, triads, chord embellishments, single-note lines, syncopation, and the little rhythmic details that make a part sound greasy. I'll show you the secrets to make progressions move with more personality. Most importantly, I won't just show you HOW to play these examples — I'll explain WHY I'm using certain approaches and how you can apply those concepts to your own music. My teaching style comes from years of learning ON the gig and in the trenches, working with musicians and developing parts that serve the music. Now I'll share some of those ideas with you.  Let's get cookin'! OVER 3 HOURS OF CONTENT!
